Backyard Chickens is based out of Chiang May and thats over 1000km from Ubon. There are a few members in Issan but most are from the north. I suggest the OP contacts Surin Livestock Breeding and Research Center Na Bua Surin Thailand. Surin Livestock Breeding And Research Center. 90 Moo 9, Surin - Prasat Road, Tambon Na Bua, Amphoe Mueang, Surin, 32000. Surin, Thailand. Service Category: Government Offices. Tel No: 044-512 828. This is only 200 km from Ubon. The last time I was there they had RI chicks for 15 baht each. You need to be Thai or have a Thai partner.
Slugs11
We have a small farm 45km outside of Ubon Ratchathani, keep a few RIR and Light Sussex chickens. Sell eggs to the locals in our village also any suplus cockrels, if you are interested. Also have white and bronze turkeys.
gk10002000
I grew up in Rhode Island and brown eggs. Frankly didn't eat white eggs until later in my youth. Brown eggs meant local and fresh.

Slugs11
We have found no difference between rearing white or bronze turkeys, they both need the same attention and care, especially during the wet season. This is when you have to make sure the chicks/young turkeys are protected from the mosquitoes, with nets. If you don’t, then the mosquitoes will bite and they get sick very quick. Once the turkey reach adulthood, then the mosquitoes don’t seem to bother them. We have some Norfolk Black turkey chicks under mosquitoe nets now, however don’t normally try to rear chicks during the wet season, due to the mosquitoes and rain causing them problems.
