BANGKOK — After watching on the sideline for decades, Thailand earlier this week offered to play a gigantic role that no country ever achieved so far: hosting a meeting between US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai told reporters on Tuesday the country is willing to host the historic summit. The comment came after Bloomberg named Bangkok a potential stage for the meeting alongside eight other cities including Helsinki and Geneva.

What are they putting in the coffee over at Bloomberg ?   Most of their planes are old, and they will probably get lost on the way.  Nice distraction on the part of the junta tho.  At least, Bloomberg gave them a little face.  Let Mayor Bloomberg spend more than one night in Bangkok to see how he likes it.   Live like a local: deal with traffic that boggles the imagination, over crowded mass transit, roads and sidewalks which are crap.

I wonder how much Tea-Money they were scheming to squeeze from this proposed summit between President Trump and Kim Jong Un.

Or just maybe this was a plot to soften the two of them up with the idea of future concessions for Thailand. I could just picture Trump and Un taking side trips to Thailand's designated 'hot-spots' such as Nana, Cowboy, Pattaya or Patong.

Maybe a special golfing adventure...."PRICELESS".

According to CNN, just a short time ago, Kim agreed to meet Trump at Panmunjom at the DMZ, so the speculation of the junta offering to host the meeting seems to be dead.  Thailand would not be a good place for the meeting as Bangkok has too many side attractions on offer which could detract from the actual process between the two leaders.
