No kidding Sherlocks'

The news reported that before, along withe the CCTV

You just haven't mentioned if the cable was low or the truck loaded to high. I'm guessing going of the comments the truck was loaded to high

The truck clipped the low wires and then the cable company rushed to fix the fault is how this is supposed to go.

Yeh right.

Truck driver.

Major Multi-National company.

The State.

Guess who is guilty?

No this is not an opinion poll.

Well colonel Chamlong you are so wrong, the truck driver pulled down cables that were too low.

That is the fault of the cable companies, not the truck driver, if the cables were at the correct height that poor woman would still be alive.

Just look at the sugarcane trucks and how these are loaded...

This is a very sad and unfortunate story. Colin understands all too well.

I feel for this family.

Yes. T.I.T.   One of the most annoying things about the culture of our adopted country is this lack of anybodies' willingness to accept responsibility:  For anything.  Even warranty of a faulty consumer product.

A power line or pole falls down in your street.  In most (dare I say, "civilised") countries, this not a big deal.   Call the local power board, Telecom or whichever utility is though to own the line or poles and someone comes out.  He will fix it or make it safe until a bigger unit arrives.  If it is not his line/pole, he or his company will speedily advise the correct utility and THEY will fix it.  They all liaise like this, tit for tat, because it is a common occurrence, a matter of public safety and very likely next week it will be reversed.

Not so here!   Hopefully it is slowly changing with exposure to bi international business practice, but getting warranty satisfaction is an up hill job.  Twice now I have even been sold an item that had already been returned a faulty Every employee of every company wants to avoid any action at all pass the buck about any complaint.  They will use any excuse to not take any action.

It is the same if your Wi Fi seems poor, your water pressure is low or your lights flicker.  A friend in a mid north city is likely going to change Internet Service Provider because no matter how many times he drives into town,  (phoning is useless) they promise to "send someone out" but nothing happens.  He can't Skype without both cameras being off and even then his Wi Fi is constantly dropping connection, and downloading takes an age.  They always promise to send someone out.  But no-body ever comes.

Even the local people, working for big Internationals are infected with it.  I bought a brand new phone in MBK,  Big name but a new version of an older model , in new coloured case.  Next day it was not holding a charge.  I went back to the sales person & she suggested the battery was suspect but she did not have a spare in shop.  Go up one floor to XXX (the manufacturers service centre there.)  They fobbed me off.  Told me the phone was out of warranty already.  Was shown my purchase invoice and the MBK shops invoice from their supplier.  They then offered to sell me a new battery as a spare. It took two more days to get it resolved. But not by the Manufacturers service centre in MBK.   It was like it was going to cost her money personally.

That is my rant for the day.   Customer service and personal responsibility in LOS are really sore points with me.  And when some poor woman dies because of some criminal negligence, how soon will someone accept blame.   Not holding my breath.

Everthing comes at a price. People here want cheap internet, so that is how cables are pulled. For organizations, profits come above everything else. If they can pull the cables without any guidelines and restrictions, why would they want to invest and spend extra money to pull it higher or put it underground.

Let's all start to look at this with some lojik.

Police should have the CCTV by now, and should have come up with some possative facts.

as I quoted the other day.

1: The cables were below the minimum hight for the truck to clear. If so cable company responsible. If they were the hight level by law, look at the next possibility.

2: The truck was above it's lawful hight and caught the cables. Truck fault.

Let's wait for the Khon Kaen FBI to get some Inteligence officers with a bit of common sense to check the cameras in the area. Also check the area, there must have been a number of people in the area. A number of them must have seen the truck. They could help the police on what the truck was loaded with and it's hight.

Not going to hold my breath. Something is not right here.
