Requirements for Tourist visa - copy of Bank account?

Recommended Posts

An agent in penang told my friend that he need the following to make tourist visa:

=====

1. Flight ticket out of Thailand within next 90 days

2. Bank statement showing enough money to subsist

3 hotel or other accommodation booking - but no rented house address because that may indicate someone who is employed.

4.Photo (EDIT)

=====

Honestly, No 2 and 3 are hard to believe. I never had to show bank account or apartment denied visa -but then again: for a long time I didnt make border runs -I might be out of focus.

Not really surprising. The Thais have for some time now been gradually tightening requirements for the issue of TVs in the region to discourage people who use back to back TVs as a means of living in Thailand.

1. It is required.

2. You need to show at least the equivalent of 20k baht in a bank account. It the same requirement at many embassies and consulate to apply for any visa.

3. They should accept a rental agreement.

4. You need a photo for the application form. Download of it: Penang.pdf
