stat088
Speaking of the Golden Globes. Glad to see J.K Simmons get the gong for his role in Whiplash. Was also glad that Fargo won best mini-series in a strong category that included True Detective, Olive Kitterage & The Missing. Haven't seen the other series nominated The Normal Heart. Okay have only watched True Detective. Good to know that there is good stuff out there for me to watch.
Tywais
Just watched a documentary that I enjoyed. I'm not usually a fan of documentaries but this was an exception. I usually take 3 or 4 breaks through most movies but this one I only paused it half way through to get a coke and continue with it. Bit of a love/hate relationship with the story. 7.0/7.5 from me. 7.3 from IMDB Dinosaur 13 A documentary about the discovery of the largest Tyrannosaurus Rex fossil ever found.
Patsycat
A wee claim to fame - Eddie Redmayane is my nephew's cousin. I met him at my nephew's wedding and he is such a nice guy. Down to earth and just so lovely and polite.
StreetCowboy
I just watched the original Planet Of The Apes; I don't think allegory works as well in film as in print, and I found myself almost shouting at the screen with the ridiculousness of it. Patsycat
I get most of mine from Kickass, but have found Torrentz.eu are good too for the ones that Piratebay gave away. And use utorrent for where they live and die. Today, or for tonight, i have lined up Major Crimes two episodes, Broadchurch, Castle and a new one called Eye Candy. Oh and Silent Witness. Google TV series calendar - it gives you the days and times of the TV Series. I found it rather odd that the US did a sort of take off of the same series as Broadchurch called Gracepoint and actually had David Tennant playing himself with an American accent. It was ok.

I had the misfortune of watching, or trying to watch Eye Candy last night. Was fooled by the high rating of 8 (at the download time) on IMDB. Really, the name should've put me off. Just another piece of American fluff where everyone (apart from the 1 token fat/ugly/normal person) from the toilet cleaner to the parole officer looks like they fell of the cover of GQ magazine. I didn't last the whole episode. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3186162/?ref_=nv_sr_1

I normally take a look at the user reviews. The one voted most helpful will show up. Take a look at the one for Eye Candy. It's the reason I passed on it. Patsycat
I haven't watched Eye Candy yet. This morning i was too busy drooling over Chicago Fire!!! One UK series which i am loving is Last Tango in Halifax - now on it's third season. But you have to watch it from the beginning to get the jist of it and to get to know the characters. For reality show lovers - i laughed and laughed yesterday watching The Real Housewives of Cheshire. Trying to live up to the Beverly Hills ones did not work!! Also, a three part drama called Without you. Not seen yet - but it is based on a Nicci French novel who is one of my all time favourite crime writers. Silent Witness still comes up trumps every week. Even though they got a bit of slack in the Daily Mail last week using a sniper based storyline, after what happened in France. Patsycat
What i like about imdb is when you look up about a movie or a series it gives you others to also look at. That is how i found most of my Ozzie films and series. Which i would never had found otherwise. I have actually seen some good ones with the actor from Dexter in. I feel really proud of my nephew's cousin Eddie getting that award. I haven't seen the film yet but after his other endeavours i am sure it is great. A week with Marilyn is a great movie. He was also good in Birdsong. Edited January 14, 2015 by Patsycat

Patsycat
The only problem that i have with kickass is, to my detriment the other day, i may go there to get my daily dose of the series and download something i didn't really want to. Porn. You can go through pages and pages of Porn until you find hidden in there something of interest. And i, thinking i was getting The Real Housewives of Atlanta got something else. I know i am a grown up person - but to see what i saw at 9 in the morning was not really nice!! There were men involved, lots of men. I'm probably on the sleezy person list forever. I'm re-watching Breaking Bad, and the first files I chose (from kickass) did not have subtitles for the Spanish dialogue. The eztv file had the subtitles and was easy to find.

I find the easiest ways to get around that is to find an uploader you're familiar with and click on their name (ettv is my usual choice), that will then bring up everything they upload. Then just bookmark the page to your 'favorites' and next time you won't have to go swimming through the ocean of porn. Otherwise clicking on the 'TV' tab will also bring up everything that's posted up relating to TV shows. I find EZTV good when I come back from a trip and I need easy access to shows from a week or so ago. If I'm up to date I find the sites a little slow in putting up new content.

Patsycat
Kickass is down. And there i was expecting to drool over a certain Criminal Minds actor. Nuthin, Nada. Zilch. I may have to go out in the cold and actually do something constructive rather than sit here all cozy and watch silly tv shows. Cripes!!! Even the Charlie Hebdo was sold out at 7 this morning. Woe is me.... but hopefully my very nice Arab ciggie seller may have kept one behind the counter for me. He is lovely and we have known each other for 15 years. Every time i move house - there he is!! Edited January 15, 2015 by Patsycat

True enough, but I'm a big fan of Voight and the desk searjeant, not to mention Voight's best mate and none of them are oil paintings. It wasn't just the eye candy though. I thought the plot just had too many clichés. And if my main criteria for watching shows was too much eye candy, I guess I wouldn't be watching anything that comes out of the US. Come back later mate with an update for us.
