Don't know if the film About Time has been mentioned here. I watched it last night and thought it was a lovely, into your heart film!! No aliens, vampires or silly sci-fi stuff, just a good down to earth British film.

Yeah Patsycat, I recommended it to you for a PMU whilst the weather in Geneva was crap ;)

Lone Survivor

Starring Mark Wahlberg, tells the story of four Navy SEALs on an ill-fated covert mission to neutralize a high-level Taliban operative who are ambushed by enemy forces in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan. Based on The New York Times bestseller. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/lone_survivor/

For myself this was on a par with recent war flicks such as The Hurt Locker and Black Hawk Down. Well worth a watch

8/10 from me

Got around to watching this one tonight...

Hmm.. I enjoyed it... It felt like it was kind of the prequel to Zero Dark Thirty...

Good movie overall Eric Bana in a bit part as well.. Which almost gave the ending away but pretty good watching over a couple of quiet ones...

I also watched The Wolverine again - I think for the 5th time - still visually appealing... Haha...

I host a group of local farangs for a monthly movie night. Last night's offering was 'Rush', went down a treat, great guy movie. Fast cars, sexy women and booze. Oh yeah, AND it was a great tale of rivalry..thouroughly recommended

Dallas Buyers Club: In 1985 Dallas, electrician and hustler Ron Woodroof works around the system

to help AIDS patients get the medication they need after he is himself diagnosed with the disease.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0790636/?ref_=nv_sr_1

I really enjoyed this one Trend Setters. I think Matthew McConaughey is an under rated actor.

Good story, well written and well acted methinks.

I agree with you 100% and especially about Matthew McConaughey. I've watched eveything that he has done the last few years and enjoyed every film.

Watching Dallas Buyers Club as I type - McConaughy continues to impress - this his best role yet. Also watched Wolf of Wall Street yesterday - excellent film in which he has a stand out cameo.

Gosh the best thing about going away on a vacation and not bringing the laptop: come back and have 2 weeks worth of series to 1: acquire and 2: watch! I'm going to be busy for a few weeks just to get back to speed. Plus a couple of new series to

Watched Prisoners on my flight back to BKK yesterday; different role for Hugh Jackman, interestingly dark storyline, Jake Gyllenhaal played a decent role as well. Overall kept my interest considering I was dead tired, full stomach and a couple of glasses of wine.

Good start to Season 2 of 'The Following' last night. My daughter got me hooked onto 'Sleepy Hollow', currently in catch up mode, but so far I'm impressed

Yeah I caught that last night as well, I'm not sure what to say about the overall scenario.. I guess 'shut the front door' is probably apt - not saying that to you GinBoy2 more directed at the writers of the show ;)

Sleepy Hollow is quirkily interesting and I quite enjoy it...

Chicago PD is also quite good - so far -for a spin off and cop series...

Check out the first episode of Black Sails, at first I thought it was going to be a kids pirate series, far from it, plenty of use of the F and C word, bags of boobs and blood and guts

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2375692/

I downloaded it, but hadn't watched it yet.

Check out Banshee S02E02 for the Amish teen girl doing the best topless feeling herself to orgasm on the bed ever.

(without actually being porn)

I know there's a separate post about this one but this is where it should be IMO.

American Hustle:

From IMDB: A con man, Irving Rosenfeld, along with his seductive British partner, Sydney Prosser, is forced to work for a wild FBI agent, Richie DiMaso. DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1800241/?ref_=nv_sr_1

A good story and a fantastic soundtrack. Also, a nice little cameo from DeNiro.

One of the best I've seen so far this year.

The Wolf of Wall Street: Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort,

from his rise to a wealthy stockbroker living the high life to his fall

involving crime, corruption and the federal government.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0993846/?ref_=cht_bo_4

Buckle in gang as this one goes for 3 hours.

Would be a hard slog in a cinema sitting there for that long.

I really enjoyed this one. Glad to see Scorsese and DiCaprio

back together. Thought they were great in The Departed.

Really over the top in some ways but it was the eighties and nineties

I guess.

I'm giving it a solid 8.

Nice one, was watching the tv ads for it here in Australia, looked like Runner, Runner but with suits and replace online gambling with the stock exchange wink.png

3 hours? That's a slog even in the comfort of my living room! Available from the usual suspects?

Yep, 3 hours but at home you can at least have the usual breaks for a slash and a snack.

Yes, available from all good retailersbiggrin.png

An 8/10 for visual appeal ;)

It was like Dirk Diggler meets Catch Me if You Can - without the aviation theme!

Was a pretty damn good 3 hours, even better as it was based on a true story...

Also watched Grudge Match last night... Kim Bassinger, 'nuff said really, actually that's all that needs to be said about this movie, although... Kevin Hart's and Alan Arkin's roles kept the movie going and a couple of good laughs.

Trivia note: Kim Bassinger's daughter plays the younger version of her character...

I'll give it a 5.5/10
