PM wishes to foster reconciliation among politicians

BANGKOK, 7th May 2018 (NNT) – Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha said he wanted to cultivate a culture of reconciliation between the ruling party and the opposition as a basis for a peaceful society.

In his national televised speech, Gen Prayut pointed out that the members of the public are familiar with a parliamentary system where the ruling party administers the nation and the opposition party keeps the government in check, adding that the existence of both sides is solely to protect the best interests of the public.

The prime minister said he wished to rename the opposition party the “opposing and supportive party” so as to change the negative vibe in parliament.

Under the proposed term, the opposing and supportive side will hold the ruling party accountable to the public while at the same time contributing to development projects and reform related undertakings.

This way, he said, the country will be able to cultivate a culture of reconciliation, unity, and trust, and the upper and lower houses will be able to settle differences rationally and peacefully.

wishes wont make it happen, neither will renaming parties in parliament; he is puffing himself up, more unbridled arrogance, as the great reconciliator, if only on TV

It is difficult to figure out if he is really this dumb or he thinks the average Thai is really this dumb.   Thais are reconciled with either a junta, Prayut Chan-o-cha free life or a life in a rudderless country with less fun and opportunity.

Good question, Yellowboat: is he really this dumb? The answer (from all available evidence): YES!

He could quote Yingluck soon: "This is MY Democracy..."

Except that he stole it from her and won't release it since it is all his now...

Or he is more like gollum and will rename it "my precious" :cheesy:

Say what you like chaps, but this bloke has standards!

Imagine yomping all the way up those mountains dressed in a suit to make a TV broadcast, in this heat - and not a hair out of place.

Can this dimwit govern in a democratic environment. Thailand will be in the hands of a delusional demigod if he ever steal the premiership and form the government.

No. That is why the process which will install him as the post junta prime minister will bear no resemblance to democracy...
