The current Government is way better then the previous Red/Yellow stalemate non governing Government .

This Government is governing , previously , the Reds and Yellows were stopping each other from governing

You can't govern a nation with non elected government. Government is the result of the mandate by the people. This junta government does not represent the mandate of the people and therefore can't be better because of its illegitimacy.

Yes, this Government was not elected , but never the less , they are actually Governing the Country , which is so much better than the non Governance of previous red/yellow governments

Still don't cut it with your generalization. How can this junta government better when they exhausted the reserves, worse of GDP than elected, revenue collection down, debt to GDP worse, budget deficit record 2.7% (2018), heighten defence spending on duds, increase pay for cronies in the NLA and NCPO and corruption still persist. Unless you have something more concrete, go easy on the junta kool aid.

Thanks for the above, Eric. And don't forget that part of this 'government's' marvellous and oh-so-fair 'governance' is to crush the Thais' free speech at each and every opportunity and to use the lese-majeste law far, far more than it was used in the Yingluck years before Prayut stole power from the people. But it's all for the good of the people, you see, Eric - so don't let us worry about any of it. Prayut really, really loves the Thais (not to mention the foreigners!).

Cut down on all the corruption , enforcing law and order , stopping Police corruption .

Giving the Country a rule of law and arresting criminals .

Work in progress though, still along way to go to completely eradicate corruption and lawlessness

Will certainly help much if he lead by example in eradicating corruption. You can’t eradicate corruption when you side step blatant military corruptions and avoiding senior police officer corruptions. That excuse of work in progress after pledging corruption reform as his key reason for the coup is long gone after 4 years. He is now courting corrupt politicians and looks like his work in progress just took abrupt end.

There has been huge steps in eradicating corruption .

It's really about time that the political parties just began to defy the ban on political activities and begin organizing, campaigning  and developing policies, particularly since they've been criticized by Junta people such as Somkid for not developing policies. They could be banned - so what? Better to be banned and expose the essential undemocracy of the proposed elections than to be done slowly to a turn as is happening now. Expose the charade.

Exactly, my friend! This is what I (and others) have been saying for some time now: stand up against the tyranny and lies NOW, because no justice, humanity and honesty are going to be forthcoming next February. No point waiting. Prayut as continued leader next year, and the year after, and the year after (no matter what the Thais want) is a done deal.

So Thais who care about their country and their children's future:  get active and defiant NOW!

Just maybe most Thais'concern is their standard of living. It's undeniable that Thaksin won because of his populist policies, democracy, human rights didn't come into it. Thaksin even announced that democracy was not his goal, rather the people's happiness was.

And so Prayud is playing the same game - vote for me and I'll develop your province.

Thaksin even told the provinces that didn't vote for him That they  would be at the back of the queue budget time.

Pork barrel politics may win the day again,

Prayut is not taking part in the election. He don’t have it to seek votes from the people. He is re-writing election law to steal the premiership. Don’t you know?

He is taking part, he'll be nominated as one of the 3 potential PMs every party has to name. So he's laying the groundwork. I can hear him now-

' People. there has been peace ever since the coup. And I have taken care of all of you, my mobile cabinets have developed the infrastructure in every region. I can promise you more of this if you vote for me who has the welfare of every one of you in my heart.'

It won't be enough in my view but he's trying.

That's world of difference between what you said 'vote for me' and being nominated by a party. You can only hear himself if he don't seek the opinion of the electorate. That's cowardly.

30,000......wonder what drew them out?

I would like to really know, though speculating is also fun.  Is there anyone on here from Buriram?

Do many of the crowd work for local and other government offices, were given the day off and instructions where to go?  Were surrounding villages offered a fun day out with football and  free food?  How many really lost a days wages to show true support for something they believe in?

Khao Sod has 'There, 30,000 people were assembled – by Newin’s order, according to some reports – and practiced chanting Prayuth’s name to the sound of drums prior to the junta boss taking the field.'

“We must get at least 10 billion baht!” Newin thundered to the crowd. “I’m asking you to endure the sun and the heat for this moment.”
