Phuket condo mogul Sawit posts bail on fraud charges

PHUKET:-- Sawit Ketroj, the prominent Phuket condo developer arrested last week on a fraud charge, has posted bail, police have confirmed to The Phuket News.

 

Mr Sawit, CEO of the Emerald Group of companies, posted bail approved by the Phuket Provincial Court yesterday (May 8), Capt Ekkachai Siri of the Phuket Tourist Police confirmed to The Phuket News this afternoon.

 

The bail request was approved while the formal charge of a breach of Section 22 of the Consumer Protection Act by providing false statements through advertisements published via the internet and other media was presented to Mr Sawit at the court.

How much was the bail and why was the amount not mentioned........................?

Yep, this really is a crock...……...investors being defrauded of millions/billions of baht, and this guy is allowed bail.

 

ACE condo developer next, then maybe Phanason, then...…….

 

All the time these developers and crooks have access to the "hierarchy" here, then this will never change because the "brown envelope" syndrome connects them all.

"Caveat Emptor" is fine for countries backed up by a proper judicial system.  One would only have themselves to blame for getting into something that was "too good to be true." 

 

However, in Thailand, all the due diligence in the world will not protect you from the corruption, and the fact you are a farang, for what could be considered a regular purchase.  

 

The odds are stacked against you here.

Condo moghul ?...the magic mantra,  left little doubt on obtaining bail....moghul !!

 

One wonders however, if the officer on the right side of the photo, just next to the suspect, would have finished his beauty sleep nap, by the time bail is granted ?
