Video: Pattaya lady boy gets a face full of durian after claiming it was overripe

Tempers flared at a South Pattaya durian shop yesterday after a customer went to return what they said was overripe fruit.

 

The cameras started rolling after the owner of the shop - a rather large and smirking man - had got cross and plunged his fist into the returned fruit.

 

The customer - a lady boy - said that they had been to the shop twice before without problems but this durian was on the turn.

 

As staff wondered what to do to calm the situation the owner advanced on the customer and gave them a 'durian slap'.

 

After that the customer seems to have been given a replacement of the "King of Fruits".

 

Poster Ying Ying probably said it best referring to another Thai drama this week in which a hospitality woman was chastised for not giving a great Thai smile to Chinese tourists getting on a bus:

 

Their ironic advice to the seller of the durian was: "Stop selling durian and start selling garlands to Chinese tour groups".

They do taste delicious,, however, how would i know that one was on the turn,, they all smell awful.. PS, i mean the Durian not the ladyboys lol

that will be bottled next week as the new FACE CREAM,good for the complexion,but who will want to kiss him/her.

In defence of the lady boy. He/ she was speaking quite normally. When the man was getting irate she/ asked what's the matter with you. I spoke very politely, I didn't do anything. I said I couldn't eat it. I bought two times here already.

I think most of us have experienced trying to return something in Thailand. You've paid! It's now their money.

Is the vendor the normal "non-confrontational" Thai I keep reading about?

You can see the red mist in his eyes. By just hanging around expecting a positive outcome at that pointwas just foolish.

Which one is the 'King of Fruits', the durian or the ladyboy.
