  • What were they expecting? an individual burial grave to each animal with a headstone perhaps bearing their names?...

A couple of thousand down; a couple of million still to go before Thailand joins civilised countries in curbing the spread of diseases; road deaths; mutilations all caused by stray dogs.

I guess they have to get rid of them somewhere. Think these mass graves are a perfect solution, or maybe they should have been left to smell in the quarantine station as well as in the streets. Just

Ok.

But if the Thai's looked after there dogs, none of this would have happened in the first  place.

Wonder if you had been at the bed side of the little girl who died of Rabies

if you would be coming out with smart comments as she died.

Do gooders. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Try being a little more positive for a change and consider it has been left open for more burials.

At least we now know that Soi Dogs were right in their assessment, and good to hear that the authorities have finally allowed Soi Dog vets into the compound.

So pleased to hear such riviting news, does that mean everything is on the up and up and and all problems are now solved  like rabies has been eradicated and the thousands of sick, half starved nuisance soi dog have been removed from the streets.

Thai Buddhism at its peak ?

In my opinion, animal carcasses should be incinerated, not buried.

My only thoughts are with the eight dead

That would stop them being dug up and becoming dinner

A conundrum when viewed alongside the usual Thai cultural/Buddhist nonsense.  Won't euthanize a hopelessly injured animal.  Average Thai at the market will watch a fish suffocate to death on a table because they don't want to be cruel and kill it.   Who do they think they are fooling?

Maybe the Thais will finally put their big boy pants on and deal with this.

only thing to blame here is the Thais for feeding and breeding, dog lovers, huh dont make me laugh!

No sympathy.

8 people have died and more deaths expected.

If it's not a registered pet, it's got to go.

There's a rabies epidemic on.

How do you register a pet in Thailand?

Serious question.

The cats do no harm.

Rabies has always been endemic in LOS.  What is the problem now?

Sorry for being so callous but, hey, they're dogs. Their life has no more value than pigs, chickens, or cows. Get over it!

Why the fuss then?

I've more chance of being stabbed by a som tam seller, run over by a speeding loon or rear ended on our Honda motorbike than infected by rabies.

You will have to ask the families of the deceased for an answer to that one

Childish thinking of the classic kind, the eight would not agree with you even if they could
