My non “O” visa based on retirement expires in under 4 months. I understand that I must have had 800,000b in my Thai bank account for 3 months prior to the expiry date.

What I’m not sure about is:

1/the cost that I will need to pay at the immigration office?

2/ can the renewal be obtained from KK immigration if the original was issued from Chonburi? If so, any additional costs or paperwork involved?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I think you mean your extension of stay period will expire in 4 months. A visa per se cannot be renewed nor does it need to be since it is permission to enter the country. (If you want to leave and come back, you get a re-entry permit).

When you say that the original was issued in Chonburi do you mean the first extension of stay was done there? As the visa itself cannot have been issued in Chonburi.

You are required to do extensions of stay at the immigration office that covers the location where you live, and you will have to show proof of residence (rental lease or other document). Assuming that you were previously living in Chonburi and now live in KK, and can prove  that, no problem. However if you continue to live in Chonburi and are just visiting in KK. you will have to go back to Chonburi for the extension.

Cots IIRC is around 1,800 baht, same at any immigration office. Re-entry permit, if needed, is additional. (1,200 for single entry, I think 3,800 for multiple).

It is 3 months prior to the date you apply for the extension, not the expiry date of the current permission to stay.

Extension of stay application fee is 1,900 baht.

Re-entry permit fees are: Single 1,000 baht; Multiple 3,800 baht. There’s an additional processing fee of 200 baht if applying at the airport, but none if you get it from the local immigration office.

I take it that your housemaster has already lodged a completed TM30 - as have you a completed TM28 - at KK Immigration?
