Nigerian Ambassador pays courtesy call on Gen Prayut

BANGKOK, 17th May 2018 (NNT) - Nigerian Ambassador to Thailand H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-ocha at Government House.

During the meeting, Gen Prayut congratulated H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli on his appointment as Ambassador to Thailand and expressed the hope that both Thailand and Nigeria will enjoy stronger relations during H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli's tenure.

Gen Prayut voiced his confidence in Nigeria's economic recovery and growth plan. The Federal Republic is the biggest economy in Africa and has good potential for trade and investment in the eyes of Thai investors.

While the Thai government has issued the Thailand+1 policy to make the country the gateway to Southeast Asian countries, Nigeria is deemed to be the gateway to African countries for members of Thailand's private sector.

Both sides voiced their readiness to support each other's development projects. The Thai government has offered to send experts in public health, agriculture and tourism to Nigeria and to help the African nation implement King Rama IX's self-reliant economic philosophy.

H.E. Mr. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli said Thailand was a model of agriculture and agro-processing industry. He expressed an interest in the rice-planting technologies of Thailand. The two parties also pledged to cooperate in narcotics prevention and suppression as well as consular and immigration affairs.

A great diplomatic example of mutual pocket pissing.

The Nigerian ambassador should have apologized to the Thais for sending so many scammers and criminals to Thailand.

Probably asking for a donation from Nigeria to help pay for the unproportional amount of Nigerians in Thai prisons.

They came by themselves, were not send in the way you imply.

Oy, Ahmed. Hope you're not staying near Nana Plaza. If you are be careful, Big Joke and the boys are ready and waiting. Operation black eagle is still operational. Best take your diplomatic passport with you when you pop out to the local 7/11.

The irony.

BS, the ambassador wanted to know why Thailand police are victimising the Nigerians.

And Prayuth probably told him.

Classic... just wonderful.

He first words were: " Why do you keep on sending home my black friends?", or is that just a "Big Joke"?

I believe they reached a historic trade agreement: Thailand is to provide only 5 million dollars in order to release funds of over 150 billion dollars locked up in the estate of a dead Nigerian prince. All transfers to go through Western Union.

I wonder if they checked his visa when he polled up...

Need better glasses. Totally missed that last line when reading as just coming back from Vietnam. Thank you for pointing it out.

So this is the guy who wins the lottery every week and keeps calling my old man every month about insurance for his 15 year old TV.

Wdsor flia em

Looks like Eddy Murphy to me. :shock1:

And a big "thank you" PM P for letting our girls work here

To the predictable Nigeria bashing that is sprouting, let's not forget that diplomacy is often, disconnected from reality.  No matter where or with who.
