Roseanne Barr blames racist tweet on sleeping pills

Roseanne Barr has blamed a tweet in which she compared an African American woman to an ape on the influence of sleeping pills.

 

The TV star, who falsely said that Valerie Jarrett, former advisor to Barack Obama, has connections to the Muslim Brotherhood, says her tweet was written after she had taken the prescription sleeping pill Ambien.

 

ABC, the network that airs the sitcom Roseanne, cancelled the show on Tuesday and said it would not be renewed for a second season after what it called “abhorrent” and “repugnant” tweets.

 

Barr has since defended herself, writing: “It was 2 in the morning and I was Ambien tweeting,” Barr tweeted.

I only know what it means because I read the CNN report before seeing this.

 

"Whilst under of influence of sleeping she compared ....."

 

Would have some pretty strong pills - perhaps less Vodka with the pills.  I can talk some nonsense when I've had a few - but I don't feel the need to insult people.

What the hell is the world coming to?

While ABC is cancelling Barr's show over her racist tweet, there's an enormous sucking sound of silence coming from Trump and the Trump White House, where racist comments are well-tolerated by the criminal at the top.

Her tweets aren't funny.

I never thought of her as a comedian per se.

More like an actress who uses a lot of her own personality in her work but I think her work is over now. 

 

BTW, I liked the reboot of the show. I also liked the old show. I didn't think the new show was purely pro-"trump" propaganda either. After the first few episodes it was mostly about family issues and poverty in America. 

 

The show won't go on another network. The other actors would ruin their careers to work with her now. They could get replacement shills but that's hard to imagine. The magic of the reboot was mostly about bringing back all the old cast. 

 

It's sad so many people have lost work because of her twitter behavior revealing how disgusting her politics are (we already knew that but she finally crossed a line) but it's also sad that the hard core rabid racist "trump" base will now see her as some kind of a MARTYR. She isn't. She did this to herself.

Tim Allen seems to get a reboot on Fox , but the cast of Roseanne won't go for it . You can see that in their reactions ( which are way overblown ).

It is sad they cancelled the show because of a tweet. I hope the remaining episodes of this season will leak on the internet.

Ambien (Zolpidem) is a benzodiazepine which relaxes and induces sleep :  even consumed with a bottle of vodka it does not generate racist thoughts...

The final season had NINE episodes.

Episode 9 had already been released on May 22. 

There never was an Episode 10 of this season so there is nothing to be leaked.

I have never liked Rose, but I disliked Vallerie even more. Nowdays the hypersensitive and chronic liberal whiners see something racist in any critical remark about blacks. Could it be that Rose's remark alluded to Val's level of common sense? If so, she actually insulted an ape.

If you look at some of past attempts at "being cutting edge" funny or politically incorrect, it is obvious that she needs to check herself into rehab for her drug addiction.
