44 foreigners arrested in ongoing tourist police crackdowns

A multi-force raid has arrested another 44 foreigners in a weekly use of police resources that continues to mainly discover people overstaying their visas or lacking an entry permit to Thailand.

 

 

Tourist police joined force with other police agencies nationwide arrested 44 foreigners on a check of 83 people countrywide on Thursday night, Deputy tourist police chief Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpal told a press conference at 2am on Friday.

 

 

The raids included three international schools, two language schools and 30 normal schools.

 

He said 11 people were charged with overstaying their visas –six Indians, two Uzbekistanis, one Nigerians and one Guinean.

 

 

Another 31 were charged with being in the Kingdom without a visa. They are nine Indians, seven from Myanmar, five Laotians, four Cambodians, three Nigerians, two Bangladeshis and one Uzbekistani.

They are targeting certain groups and people from certain countries, just out of the reason that they put this kind of illegal activities in regular play.

I am quite sure they check up other teachers too, but it might just be that they have thier visas and papers in order.

40 illegally working foreigners working in thai scools and the normal cops didn't see that happening?

Before the usual bashing and bickering starts against the Burmese, Laotians, Indians etc...,....various western nationalities can also be involved with violating laws for duration of stay in Thailand. Not only the Burmese, Indians or other citizens from the region.

 

It would be nice to see some drug labs being raided...but of course in those labs the outlaw farangs would shoot back, so it can get much more risky then a bunch of humble illegal workers posing as students to survive.

"Normal cops " are not usually concerned about illegal workers , thats the immigration polices job

Strange in the photo even blurred there seem to be alot more African than other nations there? But, the report only says 2 ??? But then there is a barrier between the two groups, and the report seems to focus on the first photo group! Plus why are they in an underground carpark,,, We thinks there have been watching too many US crime movies!

So three nigerians that are staying without entry stamp in Thailand, and engage in romance scams which makes millions of baht before they get caught. Yeah, I forgot they are the lowest in the food chain, never mind them.

We also know that black people are the most frequent ones as all from drug dealers to pimps out of all foreigners in Thailand. They also make millions illegally, but they are som low so don´t mind them.

Do you see where I am going? There is a reason why they concentrate on this. The reason is not to distract.

Xenophobia Uber Alles.  The raw racism in Thailand is approaching USA levels.

Blame the immigration extension stamping queues, you need 2 days sleep there to get one extension, and pay 1900.

 

Hope it will be made more efficient and facility to submit papers electronically, with proper appointment timings, rather than ask the aliens to queue up there, and make them sleep there.

Actually seems they target anyone who is breaking 2 or more laws.

not their fault the same colour offenders keep turning up.

 

and the trifecta is:

 

1. no visa/ overstay.

2. working illegal.

3. selling drugs.

 

no.1 is the serious no excuse.

 

no. 2 if you gonna work illegal as a teacher you can probably get away with it

but doing it with no visa is taking the plSS

 

 

no.3 offenders should consider they are lucky they just get deported and not banged up big time.

 

if all three: should be big fine + jail 5-10 years+ deportation + blacklist

Maybe there's no whites to arrest.with the different amount of nationalities arrested it looks like anyone is up for grabs,not just Africans.

   I just stated a fact that the Thai authorities are targeting Africans , I cannot see any connection between that and the state of Europe today

Or benefiting the "wrong people" not the "right people".  The fight on corruption, in many non-democratic countries, tend to be more about political battles between those that are seen as an issue for those in power.

No, but given the number of illegal westerners (there is a considerable number), the fact that the arrests are not matching statistically - distributed across all races and nationalities... is telling.  I am not saying don't arrest illegal alien black, Indian and Pakistani -- I am saying make the same effort to arrest those that are illegal aliens who are western European heritage.

The fact is they are not just targeting Africans but your comments are suggesting that it's  racially motivated.how do the police know what nationality the teachers are going to be when they raid a school.so please stop using the racial card,your in Thailand and political correctness don't wash out here.
