Chicago Fire star DuShon Monique Brown died from a blood infection, it has been revealed.

 

But doctors still don't know how she contracted the illness.

 

The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office have ruled that the actress' death was caused by sepsis, with an unknown origin.

 

Sepsis commonly occurs when harmful bacteria get into the blood, sometimes through an untreated wound.
