Governors told to tighten controls of school lunch program

An urgent circular was distributed to all provincial governors on Thursday by the director-general of the Local Administration Promotion Department instructing them to ensure transparency in the management of fund for the scandal-tainted school lunch program in their respective provinces.

 

One guideline calls for schools to adopt the Thai School Lunch (TSL) program which was jointly designed by the Nutritional Institute of Mahidol University and the National Electronics and Computer Centre which has been recognized by the Education and Public Health ministries.  Local administration organizations and school can register to log in to the TSL program at https://www.thaischoollunch.in.th/dla.php to see details of the program.

 

In case schools buy materials to prepare lunch for their students with the fund provided, schools should encourage parents, housewives group or volunteers to take turns to inspect the procurement of raw materials or the preparations of lunch.

You got to applaud their cunning... I don't think there is a source of funds, anywhere in Thailand, that someone hasn't tapped into for their own gain !!

What the hell has the 'National Electronics and Computer Centre' got to do with this subject.

 

Why Isn't this subject the direct serious responsibility of all headmasters / headmistresses, with some form of at least annual review of their activities and reporting actions taken etc?

 

I was going to write 'school directors' but they seem to be too busy with 'other' activities!

 

 

Just today my wife was telling me about the school lunches that consisted of ramen noodles and fish sauce.
