Participants in a well-attended Thai wedding procession in the southern province of Trang fired guns into the air.

But there will be no charges on this occasion - the guns were just children's cap guns and it was all done to create a fun atmosphere in the village of Ban Khok Surao.

Politician's son Attaphon "Ball" Unnuan, 32, was going to the house of Suppatra "B" Longkhao, 23, along with 100 guests to ask for her hand in marriage.

Ball, a rubber trader, put down a dowry of a million baht and ten baht weight in gold at the wedding.

Firing real guns in the air in Thailand is illegal and several people at weddings recently have been prosecuted.

The men on this occasion were doing a copycat version of a well known video clip in Thailand.
