Greenside
I have some old Visa travellers cheques issued by Travelex in the UK and seem to remember that there used to be a large billboard for them next to Icon Square computer plaza close to where the new KFC now resides. I know I can get these exchanged in Bangkok or reimbursed by sending them to the UK, but a local office would be much better. A Google search came up with only the BKK office. Anyone know if it's still around (or the Amex one for that matter)? For the record, Bangkok Bank only accepts Amex cheques and charges 150 baht per cheque so that can get a bit costly unless you've got high denominations. elektrified
Are you thinking of "Travex" (Travex Co., LTD. Travel Agency) which is in the exact location you refer to? I've booked every overseas trip in the last 12 years through them.
Greenside
Sounds like you're right. Thanks, I'll see what the BKK office suggests in the morning.
Greenside
The BKK office was worse than useless. They sent me to Kasikorn bank who they assured me could handle them but it turns out that the information was 4 years out of date and the staff pretty much fell about laughing when I presented the cheques to them. I almost expected them to start taking selfies holding one up.
