A Muslim woman was shot dead in front of her house in Narathiwat's Muang district on Sunday night, leaving her three-year-old daughter crying and hiding under a blanket next to her body.

Neighbours called Tanyong police at 10.30pm to report the killing of Nura Jehsalaemae, 28, at her house in Ban Khok Sila village, Tambon Kaluwor.

She had been shot four times in her right leg, right foot, back and left ear.

The body was sent for a post mortem at Narathiwat Hospital.

Neighbours told police that they heard a motorcycle arrive at the house and a man calling the woman to open the door before they heard sound of gunshots.

They went out to see what was happening and found the toddler crying and hiding under a blanket besides her mother's body.

The woman and her daughter had been living alone after her husband’s arrest on drugs charges.

Maybe the Drug people thought the Woman knew too much, and saw too much, so to keep them selves out

of jail, they shot her. Drug industry is not a friendly bunch.

Geezer
