I like to glance at Speedway racing once in awhile.  What's not to like?  These bikes weigh less than a Honda Wave and have about 10 times the horsepower to weight ratio.  No unnecessary stuff like gears or brakes or rear suspension ...

Around 80 kg, 80+ horsepower and a top speed of maybe 80 mph depending on the track. 0-60 mph in around 3 seconds.  Drag racing in the round.  Best part is the short races fit well with my attention span these days.

Found my chopper.  All it needs is a beer rack on the back for 7-11 runs.

Subject of old race bikes ,the humble BSA Bantam still raced ,the rules and regs are strict ,must have the original crankcases ,complete with the 3 speed gearbox head and barrels can be modified, fram must have the original loop ,the rest can be modified. this one is a 175cc

Now, I have seen racing Bantams with water cooling ,must be a different  class .

A 1954 BSA Gold Star Daytona, built for the Daytona 200 race ,this one has a rigid frame, saveing 50lb in weight .it finished third in the race .

Got to say, the Manx Norton is a lot better looking bike porn.

This guy won the Daytona 200 three times on a Norton - 1949, 1951 and 1952.  He lived to be 91 years old.

May be an image of ‎2 people, people standing and ‎text that says '‎FOUND A HONDA on بي da HONDA HONDA 000 全 I WOULD RIDE‎'‎‎

I'm too old for speed, I need something built for comfort.

In any event, I probably couldn't afford the maintenance....

If I had to pick a gate at a Speedway race, I'd choose "extra heat".

Pretty sure I'd struggle and just 'gatecrash'...............................

Try one of these, Triumph TR5 Trophy  the  1973 name come from the team winning  a medal at the 1973 ISDT, International  six day trial.

Bike was a 500cc twin ,based on the T100

Steve Macqueen rode in the 1964  ISTD in East Germany ,on  an earlier  model of the  Triumph 500
