I have Thai 5-year driver's license that will expire in 4 months. Can I still get International Driving Permit now? If so, will it still be valid for 1 year or until my driver license expire?

The International Driving Permit (IDP), often (and incorrectly) referred to as International Driving License, is a document that, along with your valid home driver's license, allows you to legally drive a motor vehicle while abroad.

 

I believe it would be valid for 4 months; until your Thai driver's license expires.

As I understand it, a IDP is a legally accepted translation of your driving license. So, no driving license, no IDP validity.
