webfact Posted July 9, 2018 Share Posted July 9, 2018 Big Joke arrests Chinese man pretending to be Thai for the last 19 years Pictures: Thai Tourist Police Bureau The Thai Tourist Police Bureau website reported the arrest of a 49 year old Chinese man running three tour companies. Zeng Guihua had applied for fake Thai ID when he was aged 30. Pol Maj Gen Surachet Hakpal and his team applied for an arrest warrant at Bang Khen district in Bangkok and this was served yesterday. Also arrested for aiding and abetting Zeng was his female business partner Khanchaya Sae-jee. The pair had opened three tour companies catering to Chinese groups. These are New Fu Hua Tour Group (Thailand), Fu Wa Travel and Huang Chiaw Tour. Zeng and his partner face jail terms of up to five years and hundreds of thousands of baht in fines. Thailand had seen many arrests in the last year of Chinese nationals who have been living in Thailand after falsely applying for Thai nationality. Most are owning and running tour companies.
