It's minimum 400.000 baht .

Also it should be two months but some rogue offices demand three months.

Here's my checklist for Samui immigration.

Your spouse must be with you for every extension of stay based on marriage.

As said 400k must never go below 400k during the 2 month period and be in your name only.

What I found with Khon Kaen was that the Kor Ror 2 that I had was only 6 weeks old and it was not accepted so I was sent to get a new one, so my advise would be to got to the Amphur office and get a new Kor Ror 2 about a week before you go to immigration

Thanks all for your kind advise and help. I have successfully submitted the documents for visa extension, on 23rd July 2018 @ the PHUKET MUAENG IMMIGRATION OFFICE as follows :

Please note, as a first step, we must notify our stay in Phuket (within 24 hours of landing in Phuket - in case of tourists it is done by the hotel) and get the piece of acknowledgement attached in our passport. This is done in Room 101. The officer was surprised that I have not yet done it since I landed in Phuket 4 weeks back. He mentioned about a fine but then said he will waive it. Very kind of the official who was  a  pleasant person.

Special mention to the German Lady Officer (Her last name was Keppler) who was very helpful and was always patient and smiling while answering our continuous queries.

2 SETS OF ALL BELOW MENTIONED DOCUMENTATION

1. Passport Copy

2. Non IMM O Visa page and Entry Stamp

3. Arrival Card

4. Marriage Certificate (Kor Ror 2 WITH THE RED STAMP) - Was sent back to get the red stamp ( the stamp  mentioning the department I presume) on the official's signature.

5. Bank Balance Letter (>= 400K for 2 continuous months) , 6 months bank statement signed & stamped by the bank official and photocopies of the first page of the bank book and all the transaction pages in it.

6. Kids Birth Certificate and Tabien Baan with their names in it (along with my wife's) . If the spouse is not the Chao Baan (House Owner) then there is a separate procedure (@ Room 101) to first get the owner's ID card and filled in form, submit it in room 101 and then proceed to room 104 for Visa Extension submission.

7. Photographs - One in front of the house with your spouse and kids (if applicable) where the house number is clearly visible and one inside the house.

8. Handdrawn Map with clear directions to the house and also a Google Map with Latt/Long of the house.

It was a bit easier around 4 years back when the whole process of submission and acknowledgement by the officer took a whole of 20 minutes but this time it was different. There were a lot of questions from the officer as to where we met, verification of each documents and questions on the documents itself. It took all of 70-80 minutes before he finally stamped my passport. The officer we met was also very good and did help us with printing additional copies we missed taking (Photos and Google Map). He also indulged in small talk about India and other applicants which was a good way to keep the conversation casual and not make us tense.

I have been asked to report back to the Immigration on 21st Sep 2018 for the actual 1 year stamp and the officer asked me to keep checking the website phuketimmigration.go.th for the status (I checked it out and its all in Thai so my wife will keep checking it for me). There is also a 20th Oct 2018 (90 day reporting) stamp on my passport.

We also asked if it is necessary for my wife to accompany me for the 1 year stamping or the 90 day reporting and he mentioned there was no need and that I can present myself alone for the stamping.

Overall a good experience and if we have all the documents in order , smile and reply to their queries patiently it is not that much of a challenge. The officer did mention that he has to go through all the questions so he can input all our responses into the system which is a necessity nowadays.

Again, many thanks for your kind help and advise and hope the above helps the next person looking for answers on Non Imm O Visa extension based on marriage to a Thai national.

Best Regards,

LokHkt

At Khon Kaen Immigration I have used the same one for 3 years with no problem.

We married at Bangrak, Bangkok 14 years ago and I'm still using the original Kor Ror 2. It ultimately depends on what the immigration officer wishes to accept on that occasion. That goes for everything, all offices are different.

Likewise, 17 year old KR 2 still accepted in P/lok office.

Did you X off 8 and 9 as irrelevant? Only a couple of times a long time ago I got them for CM but they just threw them back at me. Was a waste of $. I've never needed to have an embassy letter for funds, I have just always shown them my one Bank account with 400K I keep for Immigration only.

He did it because the OP only mentioned using the 400k baht in the bank option since they are not required when showing money in the bank.

Thank you. Always have to see if anything changes for when our time is up to go. Business as usual.
