How much did a 700ml bottle from a mum and pop store out in the sticks cost circa 1991?

I think I remember THB80?  But, as in so many things, I may be horribly wrong:  I may even be misrembering the half bottle?

Haven't looked at this forum for ages so I may also have posted this wrongly ... I assume/hope some moderator will sort it out.

All Thai brandies/whiskies taste the same to me, but there again I am a conny sewer.

What do you mean stoop that low, it is just another alcohol. I have drank no worse than any other I have drank. I kind of like it a bit raw but different

I'm with you on that. At Christmas, went up to the village in Nong Khai. When we arrived, the sister and brother-in-law were out fishing so we went and joined them. Did a bit of fishing with them then sat round a camp fire to eat our catch. Brother-in-law produced a jar of home brewed Yaa Dong Lao, brutal but fruity. After a few glasses, I really got a taste for it. So much so that when we got back to the house, the jar got finished off. By the end of the jar I literally couldn't stand up so the relatives threw a mosquito net over me and left me where I lay.

In the morning I was still alive so no harm done apart from a fearsome hangover and an unsympathetic wife who continuously repeated "som nam na!".
