Consulate At The Thai Southeren Border

Featured Replies

i heard there is/was a consulate or embassy just south of the thai border much closer than kl or penang

i also heard it used to be easy to get a visa there but maybe not anymore

i am also thinking about the dangers and safety in regards to the political situation and violence

i think any information about these issues might be invaluable to readers here

does anyone have any experience with that place?

Yeah that's Kota bahru, nice place over there, and until now no problems to get your new tourist. Also a nice island nearby(forgot the name)to relax a little, very nice part of malaysia, just go there and no worries.

The town and Consulate is a distance from the border and to get to that border you have to travel through an area that is not so peaceful if you travel from Thailand. It is also a very long distance from Hat Yai (transportation hub) so you would probably still be better off going to Penang as far as distance is concerned.

There is an honorary consulate at Langkawi I think
