Like some said, buying an expensive coffee machine isn't about the final product but learning what makes a good tasting cup. The right beans, ones you like, after trying various ones, and trying various ones is part of the experience, but prep is the important part. Fresh ground beans, grind size and uniformity, the right amount of water, temperature under boiling point (96C), so the grounds aren't burnt, and filtered water, all of which can be made in a 25K machine or a Moka pot, drip or pourover.
