Brits, French among 61 foreigners arrested for overstay in Thailand

I am happy that they finally found a couple of Westerners in their dragnet.  I suspect that they were and are still very disappointed that they have found so few Europeans and Americans in their dragnet so far.  I also suspect that the 2 Britons are black.

We all know that white Europeans and Americans are just criminals all waiting to be caught!

  • If these same people were overstaying in your home countries you would be screaming out loud and clapping for the police. What hypocrites you are when you criticize the thai police for doing their job

  • Rather like the millions heading across the Mediterranean, ending up in Calais etc. It's illegal.   Many of these guys are probably walking-disasters anyway. "I knew I was on overstay, but I

If this BIG JOKE so good to find people out of the rules,

why he not show to the road-police how to do their job ?

HE prob doesn't know the road rules himself, After all, he is called THE BIG JOKE

So they caught a few people who come from further distances

and the rest from neighboring countries ...who if sent home tomorrow ...

after tomorrow will be back or replaced by colleagues from the same village !

Great job

There are times IMO when the British authorities could learn a thing or two here in LOS.

Not only the British authorities.
Nearly all EU countries.

He would have  his work cut out for him in the US where there are millions!

Yeah. These guys are probably the scum of the earth.

Why else all the publicity, eh...

Pure filth I’m sure.

Guess there is enough scum and filth around on visas.
They have just enough money to organize it somehow.
On the other side there are enough poor old chaps who stranded here without money even to get back home.
Since it's more difficult to stay on countless tourist visas back to back, limited land border crossings for 30 day periods and so on, plenty of them may be on overstays. Are they "the scum of the earth" because of this ?

Or the only one that survived a boat trip.

I'm sorry, but that boat incident was a tragedy, and I don't wish to be part of any jokes about it.

Is it the tourist police's job to round up overstayers?

Thought it may be to look after the welfare of tourists and deal with crimes committed against tourists.

Silly me.

Silly you yes as most of us in Thailand and in our home countries applaud the police ( regardless of their names)   when they catch overstayers. But I know if it is thailand you and a group will always complain and criticize. Too bad really.

He just needs to head up to Chiang Rai & sort out all those "volunteers" who complained earlier this week.

Yes sir, stay legal

I've never overstayed even one day in any country in my now almost 7 year journey
but I would like to know what these countries are in which people cheer and applaud
if someone gets caught on overstay ... so that I can avoid such societies in the future
