I'm having symptoms of a possible STD, and on Monday yesterday I went to a sexual health clinic and got a urine and blood test, today I feel unwell slightly with slight nausea, and I could also have a UTI, my question is, would the Urine test I had at the sex clinic look only for STDs or would they check for UTIs too ? or do I need to get a separate urine test from my GP and do another urine sample ?

I'm male, 27, last had sex in early April in Thailand, currently in the UK now using NHS services but will be back in Thailand in 3 weeks hence why I want to get the appropriate tests done.

my symptoms are mild burning/stinging in urethra that comes and goes (not 24/7), seems to start after urination mostly, not during urination  dark yellow pee, sometimes cloudy looking, feeling slightly unwell, slight nausea, maybe high temperature but not sure as weather is hot here. STD doctor checked and saw no discharge in my penis.

STD are one of the causes of UTI. The clinic will check for bacteria and blood in your urine.... urinalysis.

As above.

From your prior threads, you do have a history of believing you have STDs (and other diseases) when you don't.

April to August is 4 months, STDs would usually be evident well before that.

Could be prostatitis.

https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/prostatitis/symptoms-causes/syc-20355766

yes I have a complicated Pelvic issue that can sometimes cause symptoms similar to STDs, I just received a text from the NHS saying my urine and blood tests I had done yesterday are negative, a little strange to get the test results back so quickly but was informed by staff at reception that they indeed have my results and its negative, though I thought a urine culture took a few days ? I don't know.

I've had my prostate checked 4 times or more in Bangkok and here in England, its normal.

my pelvis is messed up from a bad bicycle fall a couple of years ago, when I landed on rocks going down hill in Gran Canaria, something didn't feel right after that accident, legs were uneven etc.. then in June I had a night of sex in Pattaya and a day later I woke up with Prostatitis like symptoms.

I've had urine tests, semen culture, prostate exams etc.. they can't find nothing

I am convinced that Bicycle fall, landing on my left side of my hip/pelvis on rocks is the soul cause of this, chiropractor's were able to make my symptoms better and worse with adjustments.

I've given up finding a cure for all this, I just had sex in Thailand back in March/April and thought I may have an infection but I guess not, its this dam Pelvic problem.

funny enough on the Link Sheryl provided it says non bacterial Prostatitis can be caused by Pelvic trauma, which is what happened to me. I am suffering from some of the symptoms mentioned in that link

doesn't seem like there's a cure for me, just Pharma drugs to ease the symptoms, life ruined at 27.

keep the chin up... there is always someone worse off than you.  in fact i met this nice upbeat mom on my last flight fro LAX to home... she told me her story... misdiagnosis or doc seeing no need to biopsy a .7cm cyst and next visit it was 2 cm and she now is stage 3B  cancer... and she helped give me a proper outlook in life...

Sheryl noted above, that you have posted several times about having STDs

when obviously you have not ,maybe been a bit of a hypochondriac you

should refrain from sexual activity, especially in Pattaya,as there is a myriad

of sexual diseases you could contract .just Google " sexual diseases," and I

am sure you will find them all in Pattaya, but it's up to you.

yes I know, but my life sucks and its effected me mentally, my symptoms and her symptoms are different,  some people are mentally strong and some are mentally weak, that's just life. Robin Williams, Anthony Bourdain etc they didn't like their life and made their decision to end it, wasn't mentally strong to stay on, but some people with cancer are willing to stay on fight.

I stopped having sex with prostitutes in Thailand over 2 years ago, but yes its risky even with a regular thai girl, will have to be careful, especially in Pattaya, doubt I'll get free sex in Pattaya though. with all the bad luck I've had in the last 3 years, you can understand I want to have fun with girls ? just to get some enjoyment in my life

not trying to be funny but based on my own empirical "research" if you receive unprotected oral sex from sex workers in Pattaya there is a 3 in 10 chance you will contract chlamydia or gonorrhea. Did you have a sore throat after you had sex with your friend?

Chlamydia is unlikely for oral. MG a newish one on the block is worth looking out for.

If someone has a sore throat, a swab is worthwhile also as a urine test won't pick it up if throat gonhorrea

After holidaying in Thailand, some years ago, I developed NSU 2 weeks after my return. Went through all the tests and nothing was found. Eventually, the pain became extreme and I became incontinent. Having previously recovered from prostate cancer, my urologist finally admitted me to hospital. After a barrage of tests, still nothing found and it was put down to NSU. Treated with Ciprofloxacin, which had an almost immediate effect. Remained on Ciprofloxacin for 3 months. Consultant urologist put it down to "some funny bug you picked up in S.E. Asia."

However OP has developed his symptoms 4 months after return from Thailand. A little long for  a bug picked up here.

As an aside, I would like to point out that long term use of Ciprofloxacin is not recommended. Can lead to Achilles tendonitis, often 12 months to 2 years after use. I developed it 18 months after my treatment and it took me another 2 years to rid myself of that.

yes I was given Cipro even though they found no bacteria, could only last 3 days then had to stop because I felt so bad, that stuff is nasty.

ok think I've figured out what is causing me this nausea... Bread, the cheap supermarket kind, I just ate some of the bread for dinner and the nausea came back so I'm just guessing its that, probably a gluten/wheat sensitivity I have developed over the last few years due to antibiotic use, parasite and bacterial infections messing up my gut.
