A diver who was involved in the Tham Luang cave rescue had to be rescued himself on Thursday when flash floods swept his vehicle off the road in Nakhon Sri Thammarat.

Danish national, named only as Mr Klaus, 45, and fellow diver Mr Kim 35, from Singapore, became trapped when fast flowing flood water from the nearby Sing Pun canal engulfed their vehicle.

The pair managed to scramble to the back of the pick up as the flood water continued to rise around them.

The men were stuck there for several hours before locals saw them and alerted police.

The men explained they had been travelling back to Phuket from Nakhon Sri Thammarat where they were instructing at a cave diving course.

The men said they followed their GPS and were not aware there was flood water in the area.

A video of the rescue was posted on Facebook.

It looks like the "film director" needs to go on a refresher course.

Why would they get into the pickup box like a pair of wimps? They could have just waded to the dry area.

Oh, I get it. A little drama.
