My current employer has agreed to issue a termination of employment letter, for cancelation of current extension, dated after my last day of work. If my extension cancelation is dated eg 30 August and I am able to make the trip to KL prior, eg 21 August, would the pre dated cancelation date be a problem?

New employer is in a new district - Pataya Immigration, current being Sri Racha - but same province for WP (I think) If anyone would like to suggest other options. Im on Non B extention with multi entry valid till mid next year. Thanks in advance

Immigration would not be aware that you had a termination letter unless you told them yourself to have the extension canceled.

You will be stamped into the country to the date your current extension is expires since you have a re-entry permit when you return.

Are you going to try to have your current extension canceled and a new one issued based upon supporting documents from your new employer? If yes they will have to apply for a new work permit for you to obtain a application approval letter need to apply for a new extension.

You will still be in Chonburi province when you change jobs.

As always Thanks @ubonjoe, your advise has assisted me a great deal thus far.

The trip to KL is being arranged by HR for new non B visa based on employment with them. Hence me cancelling current extension at immigration using the letter then making the trip to KL and then getting a new visa.

If I undestand correctly... dont need new visa just new extension with supporting docs? And this can be done at Pataya immigration?

You will need a work permit application approval letter to apply for the non-b visa in KL. (see 5.2 here http://www.thaiembassy.org/kualalumpur/contents/files/services-20170329-105635-807825.pdf)

You could cancel you extension and apply for new one with supporting documents from your employer along with the approval letter. No need for a new non-b visa that way. Pattaya immigration can do it. But you may have to cancel your current extension at Sri Racha since normally the issuing office has to be the one canceling. But Pattaya may do it since both offices are under Chonburi immigration.

FYI the official name for Pattaya/Jomtien immigration is Chonburi immigration.
