As tropical storm “Bebinca” is approaching Vietnam, 36 provinces in the North, Northeast, East and South have been warned to brace for intensive rain and isolated torrential downpours during Aug 16-1, according to the Meteorological Department’s latest weather forecast this morning.

At 4 am this morning, tropical storm “Bebinca” was 400 kilometres northeast of Hanoi, Vietnam, with a  maximum sustained wind of about 70km/hour. The storm was moving in the westerly direction at the speed of 16km/hr. It is expected to reach upper Vietnam tomorrow.

The storm will then decline to become a tropical depression and a low-pressure cell over Laos by Aug 18. Isolated torrential downpours are forecast in all regions of the country.

This is the depression that was previously forecast to hit on 14-15th, isn't it? I wondered where it had got to. We had plenty of rain before the rain was supposed to hit, and then it was perfectly dry during the forecast wet days.

Think we’ve heard THIS SONG BEFORE, BEFORE, BEFORE !

sooner or later they may get it right.

Being a weather forecaster is great. You can get it wrong 100 per cent of the time and never get fired, because people expect it. They don't even need to be sent to an inactive post - which is what the job is anyway I suppose.

It's not real.  I think there is a requirement that agencies report that they are doing actual work~this pacifies the gullible that may, at times, wonder why nothing changes
