On 7 August I sent a faulty electronic item back the manufacturer in Chine by registered mail.

The item was accepted by China post on 13 August, and forwarded to the recipient in Shenzhen on 14 August.

That is where the tracking stops and the item was never delivered.

Note it was sent by registered mail, not EMS, and i didn't take any additional insurance.

What are my options?

Try to request them to investigate where your parcel is, i know ups dhl etc will offer this

So solly...

This Thai post, a completely different animal from express couriers, and from past experience they don't investigate anything.

In the mean time i know already what happened, which is that Shenzhen customs is checking the package, which may take 2 weeks.

In the past I was warned by other Chinese online sellers, that sending back a faulty item was always at risk of never arriving for that very reason.

The company where I bought from, and is the genuine manufacturer of this item, insisted that I sent it back because they most likely know what will happen.

They now claim that if the item not get released by customs for whatever reason, they unfortunately also can't send me a replacement.
