Suggestions on an area with low pollution where my client could rent a property for around 100K / month?

That;s what we booked in pattaya for a weekend...6* between the Thai moviestars...but guess what? They were building a new high hotel right next to ours ?

That's bad luck. There's not a great deal of highrise construction going on right now.

R1 hr drive will depend upon time of day and mode of travel. As for safety??? Feel much safer in bangkok than london

Personally, I am a great fan of Ekkamai.

Green, fairly quiet, close to central Bangkok, with quite a lot of detached houses for rent within your price range. You will not be able to avoid traffic jams if using a car, but using anything on two wheels makes life much easier.

Also, it is possible to find huge (200-300 sqm) condos (e.g. Oriental Towers) often below 100k.

Completely escaping the pollution may not be possible within the Bangkok Metropolitan Region, but higher floors and greener districts may do the trick.
