Have booked a room in the Savarnibhum Oriental Resort. I have been reading some views, and some people say

that the shuttle bus to the airport is complimentary, one review said that it is more expensive than a taxi, and

another said the driver may ask you for money although the bus is free.

Does anyone know if the bus is complimentary or not? It is only four kilos from the airport, or should I use a taxi?

I do not trust the taxis as I had problems when I first came to Thailand with them trying to overcharge and taking longer routes.

A lot of the nearby airport hotels have free shuttles. You need to check your reservation. The hotel reps are normally standing about in a group towards the right hand side of the arrival hall as you walk out. Head that way. Mention the name of the hotel and they tell you when it arrives or phone for it. You can be waiting 10 or 20 mins before they pick you up.

hmmm, I wonder if there's a shonky, who charges the unknowing, for a Shuttle run to the Novotel?

not only that, but by the time you've loaded up, and got off; you could have walked it quicker too...

Indeed.

I doubt that someone here has experience with them.

Really better to check with the hotel directly by email.

Information on booking.com is unclear.

At the search results it says shuttle cost extra.

At the booking page is says it's free, also comments of guests saying so.

Taxi? Wonder what happens if you want to convince a driver to do a 4 km trip after having queued for a substantial time?

I'm actually going there in the train from my hotel in Bangkok, staying overnight, then leaving for the UK the following morning. I would think it would be best getting a taxi or tuk tuk from Lat Krabang station to the hotel as I think it is not much more than a Kilo. But so many taxi and tuk tuk drivers have tried to cheat me when I first came to stay in Thailand, that I just do not trust them.

I am not going from the airport to the hotel, unless there was a shuttle bus at the airport, and I would not mind waiting at all as I will have plenty of time.

Yes this is the way to go. Normal Taxi Meters and motorcycle taxis outside Lat Krabang Station. It will be quicker too.

Well motorcycle taxis are out because of my luggage, can anyone tell me how much I should pay for a taxi to the airport, then I can challenge them at the first sign of a rip off.

The taxi will have a meter and there are plenty of them about. If you make it as far as the hotel use the hotels shuttle to the airport it will be easier and probably free.

Anybody ever went from Lat Krabang station to the Oriental Resort in a taxi or tuk tuk. How much?

I am not worrying too much about the cost, I just hate being cheated.

At the airport you queue up for a ticket and tell them where you are going, they put you in a taxi, the meter is turned on. Now unless he takes you for a joy ride I cannot see a problem. I have never had a problem with airport taxis, mind you l do sing to them on route which shortens the journey time...?

Trans, I am not coming from the airport, I am going from the station to my hotel.

When I come back in three weeks, I will just jump on the train back to Bangkok, as I always do.

If I sang to them it would lengthen the journey time especially if the driver was female.?
