Is it relevant?

Not for the dead one, but if another car was involved in the race then yes, it would be relevant because the other driver should be charged.

Without evidence or witnesses they cant be 'charged.' It appears there was no witnesses to car racing

Have a feeling for the power pole please.

Don't forget "Power poles are not killed by cars, but by drivers."

But the fact that Street Racing may be considered the root cause is relevant, no?

Looking at the picture of the car I reckon the spare wheel in the boot might be ok.

Just what I was thinking happy chappie , Once upon a time if you needed a part for your old car a breakers yard was the place to go , apart from the spare wheel ...........nothing.

Well done power pole , one less out there.

There are no facts. So all assumptions are irrelevant. Alcohol or drugs are also possibilities. But why no mention of them in the story? May be 'street racing' is more newsworthy?

Or maybe given the age of the deceased, the car, the accessories, the location, the time of the accident and that it may be a known area for street racing then the statement that 'Police have not yet ascertained whether the driver, Sarawut Madkul, was street racing at the time of the accident' is perfectly reasonable....

Maybe some of the thousands of CCTV cameras installed in Phuket could provide the answer. Oh- hang on!?

Another not so- boy speeder off the roads- natural selection and at least he didn't kill anyone else.
