Israel slaughters 5 more journalists
The Hind Rajab Foundation (HRF) and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR) have filed a complaint with the International Criminal Court against the IDF Chief of Staff, Lt.-Gen. Eyal Zamir and others they believe to be responsible for the killing of journalist Anas Al-Sharif. This led to the HRF identifying “the chain of command behind the killing,” which it listed as Zamir, Maj.-Gen. Tomer Bar, who is the commander of the Israel Air Force, Maj.-Gen. Yaniv Asor, who is the commander of the IDF Southern Command, Brig.-Gen. Yossi Sariel, the former chief of the 8200 Unit, Gen. A., who is the current chief of the 8200 Unit, Col. Avichay Adraee of the IDF Spokesperson’s Unit, the Arab Media Division, the Palmachim Airbase’s commander, and the Black Snake Squadron commander. After “identifying” the individuals responsible, the HRF and the PCHR filed an Article 15 communication to the ICC, accusing the above-listed figures of war crimes under Article 8(2)(a)(i) of the Rome Statute (wilful killing), and of genocide under Article 6(a) of the Rome Statute. Israel slaughters 5 more journalists
Israeli officials have bragged of killing Mr Sharif, whom they have claimed was the head of a Hamas terrorist cell, planning rocket attacks against Israeli civilians. Mr Sharif and Al Jazeera had already denied this. It would surely be hard for such a prominent figure to combine reporting with command of such a unit. The documents offered up by Israel as evidence end two years before the war began, and were reportedly screen grabs of electronic spreadsheets, not independently verified. Al-Sharif knew that far from offering protection amid the slaughter in Gaza, his press credentials further endangered him. The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) warned last month of acute danger to the 28-year-old’s life as the Israel Defense Forces stepped up online attacks on him. Politics Pheu Thai Party Pushes 6-Month Postponement for Paetongtarn
Protesters waving Thailand flags gather at Victory Monument demanding Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra resign in Bangkok, Thailand, Saturday, Aug. 2, 2025. (AP Photo/Tadchakorn Kitchaiphon) The Pheu Thai Party is urging the Constitutional Court to delay its verdict on the suspension of Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra due to a leaked phone call with Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen. The party argues that pressing national issues like border crises and tariffs demand a decisive leader, not an acting one. They propose a six-month postponement until these matters are stabilised. PHeu Thai list MP Cherdchai Tantisirin emphasised that the current challenges facing the country require Paetongtarn’s leadership. HHe hinted that if the court rules against her, Chaikasem Nitisiri is prepared to step up with the party’s support. If obstacles arise regarding his nomination, dissolving parliament remains a final resort. As political tension escalated, Paetongtarn participated in a merit-making event at Sanam Luang to mark Queen Sirikit’s birthday. Facing the press, she expressed affection but stayed tight-lipped about any resignation rumours that might precede the court's decision. Tourism and Sports Minister Sorawong Thienthong, also Pheu Thai's secretary-general, dismissed rumours of Paetongtarn's resignation following the 2026 budget passage, reported the Bangkok Post Earlier, her suspension was triggered by a court petition from 36 senators over the leaked conversation. She affirmed the call’s authenticity but maintained it was a diplomatic effort for peace and sovereignty. The Constitutional Court granted Paetongtarn until August 4 to submit her final defence, following a narrow 5–4 vote in favour of the deferment. Yet, the looming decision keeps Thailand’s political scene on edge, with the possibility of significant shifts on the horizon. Adapted by ASEAN Now from Bangkok Post 2025-08-13 -

Take back the Sanctuary DC and return it to the Feds...
Just restarted but yes. The appeals on the actual trial are over nut they are chasing a technical point. They should remain sealed for the moment. We will see how long SCOTUS wants to drag their feet to save a career criminal. Trump must have some good dirt on them. We may learn more after he gets updated instructions from Russia.
