Neck pain - Pattaya treatment

I think I have sprained my neck.  It's been uncomfortable for the past week.  It has been causing numbness / pins and needles in both hands and feet.  

 

I've tried aspirin and also naproxen but neither relieved any of the discomfort or helped to resolve the underlying issue.

 

Can anyone recommend somewhere in Pattaya who might be able to treat this?  I know I can go to clinic / hospital, but I'm expecting they'll just give me more anti-inflammatories?  I'm reluctant to try a massage also as it's possible that's what caused this in the first place.

I can say do NOT go to Thai massage. Had the same thing, went for few massages, now my hand and fingers numb with pins and needles.

 

i would make 3 suggestions 

 

1. Dr Park , the chiro

2. Nigel( no idea what he is)

3. Proper physio at a good hospital

I think by Nigel you mean the guy on a soi just off Pattaya Tai, near where the barriers are in the middle. He has a body building place. Gave me an injection for a bad shoulder I had had for months, tried acupuncture and that Thai hammer and chisel thingy. One jab from him.............gone.

That’s the one only he does not have bodybuilding place but a massage alike shop with some gym equipment in there.

 

most likely gave you either muscle relaxant or cordizone

Depends on which side of the street you are on. He's a BIG tattooed guy from Scarborough I think. But yes., that's him. Green door...........Frankie Vaughan/Shakin' Stevens.

It really does not matter which side you on, because there is only one Soi kohpai ?, he is actually in Soi Bonghot but it’s a funny Soi to navigate in so easier to say opposite kohpai if someone searching in maps ?

Google maps says Bongkot is on one side and Kohpai is the other side so I'm not completely sure which side it is.  Anyway if it's just off the main road, I'll find it.

I would be very, very hesitant about going to anyone other than a qualified orthopedic specialist with these symptoms. Numbness of hands and feet are a very bad sign and you should get the all clear from an ortho before undertaking any form of physical therapy. And definitely, no massage.

 

If possible I suggest you come in to Bangkok and see Dr, Wicharn at either the BNH Hospital Spine Center or (once a week only, I think Saturdays) at Bangkok Christian Hospital.

If directed at me, I had given up already .

 

had a similar problem 3-4 years ago on the other side , went exactly same way , pain neck , massage and numb hand .

 

spent thousands of baht on doctors and being a lab rat.

 

in the end , they could not pin point exact location of the problem.

 

eventually it’s went away, numbness comes back occasionally.

 

now, numbness was also with pain as if someone was pulling muscles inside my arm.

 

decided to self treat and medicate. Nostalgic , nurobian and another one( do not recall the name )

 

about 1 week , pain gone, numbness better, pins and needles less frequently.

 

i guess point of my post, sometimes need to try basics before wasting thousands , of course each case is different .

It is directed at the OP. There may be sone compression of the spinal cord and he should see a spinal specialist to rule this out.

 

He is reporting numbness/tingling not only in the hands but also the lower extremities.
