Report Cambodia Condemns Thai Temple for Imitating Angkor Wat
File photo for reference only Cambodia’s Culture and Fine Arts Minister, Phoeurng Sackona, has criticised the construction of a temple in Thailand's Buri Ram province, alleging it replicates the historic Angkor Wat, a key part of Cambodia's cultural heritage. During the 40th Technical Session of the ICC-Angkor in Siem Reap, Sackona accused the Siha Nakhon Temple, located in the Phu Man Fah Temple compound, of infringing on Cambodia’s cultural identity. She contended this act violates Thailand’s obligations under the 1972 UNESCO World Heritage Convention. This stance contradicts a 2023 declaration from Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture, which stated the Thai temple was not a replica of Angkor Wat. This conclusion was backed by a site inspection by Cambodian experts that found no imitations of the iconic structure. The dispute arises amidst heightened tensions between Thailand and Cambodia, following a fatal incident in a disputed area of Thailand’s Ubon Ratchathani province on May 28. The Buri Ram temple has been contentious since Cambodian netizens began asserting its similarity to Angkor Wat, urging their authorities to investigate. The issue highlights ongoing cultural sensitivities between the neighbouring nations, underscoring the importance of dialogue in resolving heritage-related disputes. I thought it would get easier here at older age
They're Thais. It isn't the same with foreigners. We aren't really considered to be fully human to most Thais. It can happen, occasionally, with Thais that you get to know well, you can get a fraction of the treatment that a Thai will get. A good question, and one that any expat should ask themselves regularly. -

BREAKING NEWS Trump Confirms Surprise US Airstrikes on Iran’s Nuclear Sites, Including Fordo
Thanks for the laugh, and I think that you really believe that which you posted?! Iran said they were willing to start talks with the US, once Israel stopped their bomb attacks. However the US puppet president held absolutely no sway over Netanyahu, who just brushed him off like a pesky fly and carried on with the bombing, so Iran would not sit across the negotiating table because of this, and Trump and his cronies decided to drop the bombs. Trump is an clown and a dumb one at that and he would have been unable to have an intelligent conversation regarding peace, so urged on by his cronies, he gave the go-ahead, which may well have long lasting repercussions for the US and people/countries associated with it. Just to back that up, he said he was going to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine in 24 hours, yet so far he's been unable to do anything about it, again being brushed off like a pesky fly. So the overarching conclusion has to be that Trump is neither a brave, nor a smart man, in any way, shape or form and he has undoubtedly proven this.- 1
