The dogs are kept for a couple of weeks and if a home cannot be found for them they are euthanised.

So do the Japanese and the Kazakhs. Actually it doesn't taste bad. I never understand why people think dogs should not be eaten, strange as we regularly eat beef, chicken pork etc. dog is only another meat

Beef,Chicken and Pork are not called Fido,Butch, and Spot,

and don't jump about wagging their tails when you arrive

home from work ,even more pleased to see you than the wife !

Is there an address for this butcher shop? Hopefully someone will go burn it down, with the owner’s still in it. =)

I think it comes down to the fact we dont eat animals that eat meat, cows, sheep, chicken etc dont eat meat..

Ah right we only eat vegetarians so that's ok then. All animals are worthy of life to me not just 'some'.

No doubt the hypocrites of the world will swoon and wail at the poor doggy being eaten and then go home and have their bacon sandwich.

Was it advertised on the menu as dog, I would doubt it.

In Cambodia it is conventionally advertised as "special meat" and sells pretty well. Can buy raw or grilled.

Sad to think that this sort of thing goes on, anywhere . . . here, Cambodia or wherever. And when you look at how the meat is being 'butchered', I think that to use that term, here, is an insult to all 'proper' butchers. Any H&S inspections carried out in these parts? . . . I don't think so, somehow.

Anyone who is concerned with their health shouldn't eat dead flesh. On the rare occasions that I do, it's imported. As for the Thais, strange 'Bhuddists' that eat meat three times day.

And very nice it is too.  Not tried dog yet, well not that I know of.

ive run over many a dog and usually within 500m of home so ill drive home and then go and investigate but the dogs are already gone!! Could this be why?...

This is why I will never travel to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam.

The people have no heart.

I have seen so much abuse of innocent animals tortured for the pleasure of entertainment.

I must admit I thought that selling, buying or eating dog's meat is illegal in Thailand. Is it so?

I think it is....selling, buying or eating pussy is also supposed to be illegal but we all know that it happens ?

Yes, as I like to say, I'm a vegetarian but I like to filter the rabbit food through a cow first.

I guess live flesh is ok then? ?

So what is wrong with eating horse meat? In Holland you can buy and eat, very good meat to eat.

We kill a rhinoceros only for the horn, a tigre only for his penis. Many sharks only for their fins.

I ate crocodile in the philippines, i ate ostrich steak here back home, rabbit, lamb, deer.

In thailand you can eat spiders, crickets, worms, very protein rich. Maybe i ate dog in Thailand, i dont know.

Not to forget , humans are the top predators and eat all kinds of meat.

And even at one time, we ate each other (or still? you will not hear)

Today special price horse meat !

I understand the love of mans best friend, but like you about the French, has anyone been to a slaughterhouse for cows, pigs, and chicken in the world. I guess they don't count as to how they are butchered and served.

From what I've seen here in general Thais should keep silent and not pass judgment on this matter as to the eating of dogs. I wonder at times if I got a large truck and rounded up all the strays in Pattaya and took them across the border I would be rich but of course, all the disease inflected dogs running around the Soi's I would be lucky to break even on the gas!

why would eating horse meat be "uncivilised" while beef from many cattle species is OK ?

So what is his point doing this?

Can dogs eat dogs ? He could have bought him some meat that she was cutting !

?

Of course they can. Haven't you heard of the saying "it's a dog eat dog world"? ?

We are all here to eat each other

litterary and figuratively

man kind is the greatest menace on the planet .

traveling the world I taste most things on the menue no issues

This practice needs to be stopped in Thailand completely!

During WW2, many Americans consumed Horse meat with neigh questions asked.

Better the dish of the day is a lovely little spring lamb? (don't mind me, the whole business of eating animals just seems odd).

If this culture treats dogs and pigs alike who are we to interfer. What if Hindus went to his home country and bought live cows and set them free? Would he be outraged that a foreigner came there and tried to change the culture? Same with Muslins or Jews and pigs.

You are right pegman. Saving just one dog? so much sympathy so much publicity. Don't they have better things to do? Saving women from traffickers before they end up in brothels would make more sense but you will get pump with lead. Dangerous.

Commendable.

I had it happen to me in south Korea on a business trip that they served rover.

Skewers over a hot bbq.

I didn't say anything to my off sider until later that night.

I didn't want to blow a new business contract.

He was quite upset.

Probably not as much as the dog was.

Was on the menu Sumatra when I was there . Ati Anjing (Dog Heart). Tasty with a peanut curry and salad greens. Of course the Snowflakes  squeal like stuck pigs, yet they eat Babe, Bambi, Daffee and other barnyard animals. Get over it, squeamers, or chew on a carrot..
