Accident Motorcyclist Killed After Crashing into Parked Lorry on Bang Na-Trat Road

A 28-year-old man died in the early hours of 14 June, after his motorcycle crashed into the rear of a parked lorry on the Bang Na-Trat frontage road in Bang Pakong district. The fatal collision occurred at approximately 04:00, in front of the Bang Pakong Post Office, kilometre marker 48 on the inbound carriageway to Bangkok. Police from Bang Pakong Station, led by Pol. Lt. Col. Somsak Puangsuk, and local rescue personnel responded to the scene. Upon arrival, authorities found an 18-wheeled lorry registered in Bangkok parked in the leftmost lane. A motorcycle registered in Phrae province had smashed into the back sustaining extensive damage. The motorcyclist, identified as Mr Suwijak, 28 was found dead at the scene, lying in a pool of blood near the wreckage. The lorry driver, Mr Manoch, 37, told police he had pulled over to the side of the road to relieve himself. After returning to the cab, a six-wheeled truck passed by and then stopped, with the driver approaching his vehicle. Alarmed, Mr Manoch stepped out and was shocked to discover a motorcycle had crashed into the rear of his trailer, resulting in a fatality. Initial investigations indicate that the lorry had been stationary on the roadside without hazard signals at the time of the incident. Police have collected evidence from the scene and taken Mr Manoch in for further questioning at Bang Pakong Police Station. The body of the deceased was sent to Bang Pakong Hospital for a post-mortem examination, as the investigation continues. Adapted by Asean Now from Khaosod 2025-06-15 -
