Can one get support from tourist police in a not tourist area of thailand

Featured Replies

If I live in a city away from the main tourist hotspots where the local police force dont speak English... can I call tourist police hotline number and get help from them?

If so what is the number?

If not how is one supposed to communicate with the local police if ones thai language skills are less than adequate?

Google translate. A Thai friend.

Here's a pile of info about the Thai police but maybe outdated because it says their salary is 6k and I think they start on 8k or more thesedays :

Easy. Call the tourist police hotline 1155 and ask them about coverage in your area. If none are near enough they may have someone drive to you. If they do not cover your area then ask your local police to get a translator and talk to them. The person they select will be someone they know and trust and should work very well.

Of course but depends what your problem is if it is not tourist related you use your local police.
