BANGKOK, 19th September 2018 (NNT) -- The government has confirmed that no election campaigning is allowed yet, despite the relaxation of the ban on political activities.

Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-o-cha said on Tuesday that all political parties should strictly adhere to the conditions of the relaxed ban while waiting for the law on the election of Members of Parliament to come into effect on December 16 or 90 days after the law is published in the Royal Gazette.

Gen. Prayut stated that after this period passes, election campaigns will be allowed and he believes that political parties will have enough time to implement their campaigning programs.

The PM added that he hasn't planned any meeting with politicians and repeated his announcement that he would announce his future plan in politics after the MP election law is in force.

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Gen. Prawit Wongsuwon, said on Tuesday that all political parties can now engage in a wide range of activities, other than any campaigning program, and those who violate the ban will face legal action.

Fourth Army commander Piyawat Nakwanich, said that as parts of the plan to maintain peace and order ahead of the general election, the military has already started approaching political party campaigners in the southern border region to clarify what they can and cannot do at this point.

Was this announced whilst they are on their campaign trail mobile cabinet meeting in Petchabun ??

So, now there is further delay to the junta leader's declaration of whether or not he will 'get involved in politics'. Remember a few weeks ago he said that he would reveal his political plans in September? Yet another lie - to add to the mountain of lies.

But no problem. The Thais will accept it all: 'They've got guns - what can we do?!'

Hey hey hey! No no no, not yet. Can't allow too much time or advantage to any political challengers.

As we learned with the constitution referendum, keeping the silence is a must to give their 'untruths' the space to grow. Having a silent opposition in a debate is a wonderful tactic. How can they lose?

Applies to everyone except himself who has been busy electioneering and handing out wads of money in Loei and Phetchabun districts.

Looking forward to all the  political debates between various politicians broadcasted life on national tv.

Of course Pinnochio is milking it

If not now,  when?

His lips are moving again....political parties better be careful engaging in a wide range of activities. Based on Big P's comment that he will announce his political intentions in a year or two would indicate that would when he would feel comfortable allowing an election to take place so the lifting of some political restrictions is designed to allow opposing parties to get into trouble. Then the junta will sweep in to save the nation by delaying the election and punishing that party.
