Introduction to Personal Income Tax in Thailand
just reading from the thai revenue dept website, I blv it says if one has assessable income they are to obtain a Thai tax id number and fill out the tax forms and (quoting fm the RD page) pay tax if any. Sounds to me like they want one to file even if there is no tax owed. After that quote, the rd provides everything about income and charts for taxes , etc. I for one will have NO ASSESSABLE income so I will not obtain a tax id number unless they change that rule and thus will not file any tax forms. Just saying, one can easily go to the Thai revenue department website (ENGLISH) and read for themselves. Good luck on your tax situation whatever it may be. -

Reform UK to Pursue Private Prosecution in Manchester Airport Incident
Yet a completely different approach to Muslims breaking the nose of police officers at airports. No charges after several months. Like I said, a 2 tier system of justice. -

Car recommendations
About service centres Not sure about other brands but GWM has one in CM and BYD has 3. My Haval (GWM) has been serviced at 4 different centres, Hatyai, Ubuntu, Hua Hin and Chiang Mai. The Haval is a PHEV so it requires oil change and all those annoying stuff needed for ICEs. EVs don’t require near as much servicing. Bring it in, they plug it into a diagnostic thingy and you’re off in a couple of hours. About Chinese brands and inferior products Things are made to a particular price point. China products offer a wide range to suit most budgets. There are some people who purchase a cheap product that is meant for occasional home use and then complain that it isn’t as good as something European made that costs 10 times more. I hope you see how ridiculous that is. Chinese EVs are really bucking the trend. For reasons I stated in my post, these are products that are as well made, and in many instances, better made than the comparable Japanese made product at a lower price point. It really isn’t rocket science. An EV’s major cost component is the traction battery. As prices for this comes down, so will the overall price of the car. -

Bangkok Suffers Severe Smog as PM2.5 Levels Soar Amidst Heat Wave
Time to get the air purifiers out of the closet and back up and working. We had a red morning in Pattaya (over 150) and I could see it "clear" as day. Looks like an early start to this year's proceedings. And it has nothing to do with burning season. Annual transition months where the monsoon winds from the south are dying, being replaced by dirty air from China. -

Ministry to Rehabilitate 20,000 Teen E-Cigarette Users in New Plan
I'm still a nicotine addict but I gave up the cigs 3 months ago (cold turkey). Haven't had even one since. My plan was to not smoke anything for 3 months and then go on the vape. Lasted 6 wks before the vaping started. Yet the arguably more harmful cigarettes are available everywhere. Can't have people vaping though. The 60 or 70 billion plus baht per year in excise tax must be protected. Health has nothing to do with it. -

i mean. It is rainy season. Burning hasn't started yet. Rain poors almost every day. Just wondering where that peak stems from.
