I am booked to apply for a new UK passport at Trendy Building Soi 13 on Monday the 1st Oct. I fly back to work on the 23rd or 24th Oct. Is this enough time? I have had passports previously from Trendy and it took 15/16 days but that was 3yrs ago. Any updates would be great. It's a basic renewal due to the shortage of pages. Thanks.

Yes, they have a good system there. Three weeks would be cutting it fine. Let me know how you get on?

did this last month, exactly 3 weeks to get back in my hand.

That's correct.

I was also tight for time, work 4/4....

It was a 2nd passport but same process.

In June my passport was stolen and with other problems I asked Trendy and the passport office in UK if they could expediate receiving my new passport. From the day I put in my application to the day my new passport was in my hands was 6 days.

some long waits there. mine took about 10 days from trendy but all the longer waits above are more recent so might be busier nowadays so may be best going with the 3 weeks as a likely time frame

My son submitted for a renewal. Was quoted 6 weeks but actually got it back in one week.
I submitted my application on August 7th, told it would take 4 weeks. Received phone call and e-mail on 16th August (9 days later) to say it was ready for collection but could not get to Bangkok before 22nd. So time from application to collection exactly 14 days! Looking forward to doing it all again in 10 years [emoji2] I guess it all depends on how many applications they have to deal with on any given day.

Factor in that it may have sat with agent for a couple of days before submittal and also in Trendy building before collection by agent.

The immigration officers will be happy to stamp any space left on your passport, even if it's only quarter of a page, then you can wait a few months and get a nice new blue passport.

No thanks!

Mine doesn't expire until 2021 but I renewed it early so I can still get the EU burgundy passport, even though it won't give me the freedom to travel and work anywhere in the EU after March 2019. Unless Brexit is abandoned (here's hoping!!).

What Remainers seem not to appreciate, however, is that it is thanks mainly to the ridiculous and pointless EU Schengen rule that passports must not be older than 10 years that we Brits are no longer permitted to carry over unexpired periods from our old to new passports up to a maximum of 9 months!

When I renewed my passport back in 2010 the 9 unexpired months were added. It's been stopped now, and I assumed that was due to Brexit.

Just a few weeks ago my daughter's renewal took 10 days.

Just had notification from DHL that the new passport will arrive at The Trendy on Monday 1 October. So total time will be 10 days.
