An infuriated Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha hit back at veteran politician Sanoh Thienthong who had earlier cast doubts on the possibility of his return to power after the election.

“He should go home and rest. How could he look down upon Thai people that way?” Prayut said.

Sanoh, who is Pheu Thai party’s chief advisor and a political veteran representing Sa Kaew province, had questioned Prayut’s chance of becoming prime minister again after the election. “Even if he has 250 senators behind him, he still would not make it,” Sanoh said.

There there dear, calm down, not good getting upset.

Must be a serious shortage of toys at government house, the ones that are left need a good clean, as they are constantly being thrown out of the pram.????????

Sticks a stones etc, but this guy gets his knickers in a twist over name calling.

I often make fun of this 'leader' by creating phrases and rhetorical questions that he might have posed. When I read the following from him just now, I thought I was reading my own creation! He asks (inanely):

' “Would Thai people allow the country to return to chaos? Would they let them provoke troubles again?'

Ha ha ha ha ha ha. I might add:

'Do they want bad men to come back? Do they want corruption to return? Do they think their Government will not protect them from bad men and chaos? Are we not labouring night and day to help every Thai in this land? Do I not lose sleep over how how I can bring happiness to the  people, more and more, even though I am sick with worry and stress? But do I care about myself? No. I only love Thailand!'

he isn't qualified to lead a non-military govt; doesnt have the constitution for it

If he is so sure, then all he needs to do is wait for the elections they will vindicate him or put him on his place (think the latter).

Like Trump trying silly to defend the world laughing at him at the UN. These small men have similar traits - Inferiority complex. Double for Prayut as he is an illegitimate PM and harsh laws.

He's everywhere.

Apparently the most quoted man on Earth..

Which says something about the intellectual abilities of the inhabitants of said planet.

Now back to our little charmer..

What cool?

Mr Sanoh, another old dinosaur trying to make himself relevant. Butter would not melt in his mouth.

"PM Prayut loses his cool....."

Should be in every Thai journalists cut and paste.

Mmmm............such petulance. Not becoming of a country's leader and NEVER happens (in public?) by a diplomat.

Mr. Sanoh, a dinosaur who has contributed nothing to Thailand and contribution was never his aim. Just like his self exiled buddy, what's in it for me, me, me.

Seems to me pt should be highly embarrassed to call sanoh their chief advisor.

I recall many years back there was lots of discussion about overweight trucks destroying Thailands' roads, and there were many calls to reduce the allowance axle load weight for trucks.

Soon after Sanoh became the minister in charge or roads. What did he do, he instantly increased the allowable load weight for trucks.

Guess who owned a large fleet of big trucks at that time.

This is also the guy at the front of taking temple land and turning it into a residential village/golf club.

"He then added: “Would Thai people allow the country to return to chaos? "

"I prefer dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery" is a translation of a Latin phrase that Thomas Jefferson used: "Malo periculosam, libertatem quam quietam servitutem." It has also been translated as, "I prefer the tumult of liberty to the quiet of servitude."  The man has NEVER used the word freedom since he usurped power.  The average Thai has more freedom outside of Thailand.

The army and Prayut creates chaos.  South Korea handled their impeachment in a controlled fashion.  Look at political change in Malaysia.  Handled without the army stepping in.  Prayut does not posses the small amount of mental stamina to put the country on the right course.  If he had, he would not have usurped power.    Gosh, create a judiciary that is unaffected politically.  That loves the law and interprets it based on fairness, not on the emotions of the powerful.

By Pravit Rojanaphruk, Senior Staff Writer

“Sanoh should go and rest," junta chairman Prayuth Chan-ocha takes a snide at Pheu Thai Party elder Sanoh Thienthong.

BANGKOK — Junta chairman Prayuth Chan-ocha has lashed out at a senior politician who suggested he will fail to hang onto power after elections promised for February.

Gen. Prayuth said Wednesday that Sanoh Thienthong, a well-known Pheu Thai Party kingmaker who helped formed past governments, should retire and go home because he’s old. His rebuttal came after Sanoh predicted earlier at Pheu Thai’s first executive meeting that Prayuth will be shut out because Pheu Thai will repeat its past electoral successes and land 200 seats.
