Luca the police Beagle is a superstar at Don Mueang airport

TNAMCOT reported on the latest addition to the tourist police in their fight against drugs.

It comes in the shape of a 13 month old Beagle called "Luca".

Luca only recently joined the force and is already a great hit with the public and was called a superstar by TNA on their Khap Khao TV show.

Luca was shown sniffing out drugs in an office at Bangkok's second main airport.

Everyone wants their picture taken with the first Beagle on the force who has even been given a police rank.

He was born in Chiang Mai.

Others in the 50 strong K9 force are breeds like Alsatians.

Good idea, Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok would be a good start. But Luca would need to be trained not to sniff out bent cops. That might cause some embarrassment.

I would feel a whole lot better if Luca was sniffing out explosives. :shock1:

if they could train it to sniff out corruption there'd  be more dogs than people................but then again, on every soi, still at least it shows the public this is how a dog  should be taken care of with a lead and  collar although Im not  keen on the manacle type round its  neck, however theyre  much too LAZY to really take care of a dog

The sad part about these dogs is that when they retire, they can only hang around the kitchen looking for treats as rewards ...

So do retired Ferangs.

No, this country just need people with enough brain and bals to legalize and control ALL drugs.

But yes I am dreaming, brain and balls are quite hard to find here...

You just love knocking any progress don't you?

There are AES dogs at the airport as well- it's a different type of training

no I don't, I just think it is a waste of resources to look for drugs when I could be killed by a bomb on a plane or at a high profile public place like a airport.

I would feel the same in the USA or anywhere. These same people deployed at a passenger drop off area 24/7 could potentially stop a massacre.
