Police in Bangkok have announced the arrest of a serial thief who was stealing from university students at many of the capital's universities and educational institutions.

Picked up on a warrant from lodgings in the Saphan Khwai area of the city on Sunday night was forty year old Wattanaphat.

His modus operandi was to pretend to be a student and enter universities. When he saw possessions left unattended he would steal them and then sell the goods online.

In a latest theft he got a Macbook at Thammasat university in early September but police believe that is just the tip of the iceberg.

Sanook said he had done 50 thefts and people who might have fallen victim have been asked to contact the police.

They said that the suspect has admitted theft. When he got Thai ID cards from his thieving he would use these to rent rooms and get phones to stay one step ahead of the police.

Apart from Thammasat thefts were made at Kaset, Hua Chiaw, Rathchaphat Suansunantha and Ratchamongkhon Institute of Technology and other places.

When a person succeeds at crime, he thinks he's smart - and he keeps on doing it - until he gets caught.  No thief thinks to quit while he's ahead.  And if you commit crimes for long enough, you will eventually get caught.

The issue being enough is never enough for most Thais !!
