But a a world "leader" there comes a lot of issues about hwo Amrica is run, and what they do, because it impact most of us who participate here, not only amricans.

Trump is the best US president in modern times, he alone has turned the dead obama economy around and created millions of jobs, we now have the lowest unemployment in our history wages are increasing and the vast majority of peoples lives are now improving for the 1st time in anyones memory or life time.

Well, if you just report the facts about Trump, most likely the story is going to be negative. If a story quotes Trump, most likely there will be falsehoods and lies which it's the duty of a good journalist to point out. Maybe you think a journalist should just be a stenographer?

Yes, Americas politics (Money) affects the world. Thats what Trump is fixing and when the money stops flowing to these "allies", The anger and backlash is disparaging. Sort of like a divorce ????

It's actually a lower percentage than that. I think the total number of eligible voters who voted was around 58%. Trump lost the popular vote, I think, 27%-26% (these numbers are close estimates). So, he "won" with roughly 28%. A lot more you could say about it  - gerrymandering, some level of unprecedented social media hacking  etc....So, it's not good that 27-28% of the US public voted for him but it's a bit more complex than the figures that are commonly put out there.

Yes, As in NATO and protection. If the USA pulled out of Europe and said they were on their own, Russia would waste no time in taking the continent. They have all used the US since WW2 for their protection and not maintained their own military. FACTS

Because it was not in the USA's interest to be there? Most Americans understand that. Of course, if you're Donald Trump and have a special and peculiar relationship with Vladimir Putin, perhaps you have other interests that you put ahead of the USA's.

Maybe what's upsetting "Europe Liberals" is when Donald Trump does things like defending Russia's invasion of the Ukraine.

My vote was an "anti-Hillary" vote, not a "pro-Trump" vote. I believe that, had the Democrats run any viable candidate other than Hillary, they would have won the White House.

 

However, once Trump was in office, he did have real potential. He still does have potential. But his ego has been his worst enemy. He needs to focus, rein in that ego, stop running his mouth, and execute his vision over the next two (likely to be his last) years. I am hoping he accomplishes some things worthy of mention.

 

And classifying his followers as moronic, racist, bigots is not really fair. Of course, those do exist, but they are not the majority. What you have is a large section of the US who believe the Federal government has gone off the rails, and they are praying for some leadership. When compared to Hillary, Trump looked like the Messiah. And this is the problem. The US has not provided the American people with any real leadership to elect in ages. The parties are failing the people by not offering them real leadership to elect.

 

But many posters are right about one thing. Americans, in general, need to grow up. We have gotten weak minded and weak in the spine over the past 30 years. You can't bitch and moan about losing jobs to China, then turn around and complain when you have to pay more for American made products, or tariffed imports. You can't beg the government to spend trillions you don't have to manifest some dreamworld that will never exist, then complain about the mountain of debt created. You can't sit around ignoring the political process while you play XBox, then complain that you have no good choices on election day. You can't complain about politicians playing politics in the media, when you turn around and consume that very content with the fixation of a dog in heat. The days of the US standing head and shoulders above the rest of the world, while sitting on our collective @$$es, are gone. It is time we get back to work. And that work should start with adhering to the concept that made us great to begin with - individual freedom. We need to lead by example - by electing good, responsible leadership, by minding our own house and playing by the same rules we demand everyone else observe, by promoting freedom in other countries but not imposing it, and by ending our manipulation of governments and economies around the world. Respect is earned, and we need to start earning it again. That's not on Trump. That is on US.
