Police boost security during Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year

The Provincial Police Region 5 are requesting public cooperation in reporting suspicious activities during Valentine's Day and the Chinese New Year.

The Commander of the Provincial Police Region 5, Pol Lt Gen Kittitach Ruantip (กิตติธัช เรือนทิพย์), reports that a large number of people will be engaging in holiday and shopping activities during Valentine's Day and the Chinese New Year. Pol Lt Gen Kittitach has asked the public to cooperate in remaining alert and keeping safe during their travel and leisure periods in various places. He asked that members of the public report suspicious activities or persons to authorities.

Pol Lt Gen Kittitach said that he had instructed 8 northern region provinces to prepare crime suppression plans between February 5-20, in addition to setting checkpoints, and patrol areas in important locations.

He added that local fireworks manufactureres have been asked to produce fireworks in moderate quantities and to conduct regular inspections of their gunpowder storage.
